Trying to figure out what part the two guys on the floor had to play in it all? The big guy in the blue jacket goes on to grab the knife and throw it clear but they keep him and the other guy held down for a long old time after shooting the knifeman.

bloke in jeans and dark top on the right in first pick took the young surgeon (bloke with dark trousers white stripe) down to the ground.
bloke in blue top/white trousers (mistakenly) attacked bloke in jeans.
copper went for bloke in white trousers. the young surgeon was able to get back up and practice his operating technique on the cop.
female cops fled from the action, racist male cop shot the young doctor.

I was in Amsterdam at the new year with the Mrs. The threat of trouble from islamists there was real.

I'm failing to see the guy in blue top/white trousers engage with anyone other than the surgeon. He appeared to be attempting to incapacitate only the surgeon who was wielding the heavy duty scalpel whilst the surgeon's assistant (yes, there was more than one of 'em) was attempting to free the surgeon.
